About

Hello, my name is Sara.

I'm a licensed psychologist based in Pittsburgh, PA and serving all of Pennsylvania virtually. If you are looking to begin counseling, I am accepting new clients. I provide individual therapy for adults (18+) with a variety of concerns, and particularly work well with those who are struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, and not feeling good enough. My areas of clinical focus include anxiety, grief & loss, and eating and body image concerns. I work from a Health at Every Size framework. My style is supportive, patient, and collaborative. I approach my work with cultural humility and am committed to providing culturally sensitive care. My hope is to create a space where you feel safe to show up fully, share your life experiences, and express your genuine thoughts and feelings. I see the therapeutic alliance as an essential catalyst for meaningful change and healing. I will focus on creating a strong relationship with you that centers on authenticity, trust, vulnerability, and compassion. I’m here to help you recognize your strengths, increase self-understanding, and feel more empowered. As we work together, I will encourage you to connect with your emotions and increase vulnerability at your own pace. I will provide my genuine feedback and reactions along the way, which often include sincere empathy, gentle pushes for you to take risks and challenge yourself, and shared laughter and lightheartedness when appropriate. I completed my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and have over 8 years of experience providing therapy to a wide range of people, with a specialty in providing care at university counseling centers. I currently work as a licensed psychologist at Carnegie Mellon University Counseling and Psychological Services where I provide individual and group therapy to undergraduate and graduate students. When I am not working, I enjoy taking care of plants, trying new arts and crafts, and listening to audiobooks. All of my services are offered virtually via video conferencing using a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform called Simple Practice. Please note that I do not accept insurance, but I can provide documentation that may help you receive reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits. If you are interested in learning more about my services, please click "Contact" at the top of this page and complete the form. I look forward to hearing from you!
